5 Good Habits I'm Implementing At The Moment
Though we're all going through a very unfamiliar transition at the moment, I truly believe in trying to make the best out of a difficult situation. I mentioned in my previous post what my plans are online and off but to round off the week nicely, I wanted to touch on good habits I'm trying to implement at the moment. Here they are;

Waking up early enough to enjoy breakfast

If working from home has given me anything so far, it's the luxury of time. When I'm in the office I find myself waking up with just enough time to get ready before darting out of the door to work and snacking around 10am on something usually unhealthy. Since working from home, to ensure I'm ready for the day, I'm making sure to have a good breakfast before work. This way, I still get the time to myself that I'd usually spend getting ready and it means I'm fully awake by the time I turn on my computer and get going. 

Yoga & meditation

In all honesty, I've wanted to get into yoga and meditation for years but I've always put it off for one reason or another - I thought now was the perfect time to start. Though I'm at home, safe with very little panic, I still find I need to center my mind and focus on something other than work and the food shop.

Getting outside for a walk

Not something I've been doing every day but definitely something I'm going to start taking advantage of more. When you can't leave the house, you realise how much you take those everyday moments for granted and so my one day, government approved walk will be in full swing this weekend. I also want to do some gardening and I'll definitely be sitting outside if the weather is nice, wine in hand.

Separating work & home

For me, creating separation when working from home is key. I always say that I could never work from my bed because I'd never want to associate work with where I sleep and so I'm implementing some measures to keep work and home separate. I'm not getting getting 'ready' in the same way I used to but I'm making sure to get up, have breakfast, brush my hair and do my skincare routine. I'm making sure to work in different clothes than I lounge in - Currently I have work pj's and lounge pj's. I'm trying to resist going into my bedroom at all through the day and I'm making sure to only work in the office so that no where else in my house feels like work. So far so good.

Switching off

Whilst working from home, I'm trying to manage my team from afar. This works absolutely fine during the day but once I'm done, my notifications go off until the following morning. Under normal circumstances, I don't respond to queries until the next day and so I want to keep that consistency and separation - It's good for the mind.

I'd love to know if there are any new habits you're getting into whilst at home. These are definitely habits that have been keeping me sane over the past week and are what I'll be tracking in my planner next week.
